Pupils from Ysgol Bro Dinefwr

Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is a large bilingual secondary school in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. They have been engaged with the Eco-Schools programme for several years and have achieved the Green Flag award. Students are actively engaged in a huge range of initiatives to minimise the school’s footprint. They aim to be Carbon Neutral by 2030 and are working hard to look at energy sourcing and increasing renewables. They have an incredible Nature programme for outdoor learning and growing of food; this has also led to talks with local suppliers to work towards a much more circular approach to food sourcing and production. The uniform Swop Shop has been well established within the school for several years and sustainable development concepts are incorporated across the curriculum to ensure that all learners are developing an in depth understanding of the steps needed for a planet friendly.
