Tim Peppin - Corporate Director, Welsh Local Government Association
Tim worked in the Policy Research and European Affairs Unit of Mid Glamorgan County Council up until 1996 when he joined joining Caerphilly County Borough Council upon local government reorganisation. As the Policy Manager in Caerphilly, he acted as the council’s lead officer on sustainable development and corporate voluntary sector relations and became heavily involved in community regeneration initiatives. In 2004 Tim became Caerphilly’s Head of Policy and Democratic Services and a member of its Corporate Management Team.
Tim was appointed as Director of Regeneration and Sustainable Development at the WLGA in December 2007. The portfolio, and the staff in Tim’s team, cover a wide range of environmental and regeneration issues including waste, transport, planning, regeneration initiatives, economic/business and community development, flood and water, countryside and biodiversity, National Parks, rural regeneration and as well as corporate roles in relation to European relations and sustainable development. Tim recently became the Corporate Director (Delivery) in WLGA taking on additional oversight and co-ordination roles in relation to digital, improvement and finance functions.
