Dr Kersty Hobson - Reader in Human Geography, Cardiff University

Kersty is an environmental social scientist, and a Reader in Human Geography at Cardiff University. Since the late 1990s she has been researching, publishing, teaching and speaking on the social challenges of sustainablity, in particular household and consumer behaviour change. Over the past decade her work has focused on the Circular Economy, and she has written extensively about the possibilities and limits of the 'circular consumer'. She is currently working on a 5-year Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council project called 'BuildZero', which will explore solutions to deliver future building stock requiring zero material extraction, zero carbon and zero waste, taking account of social acceptability and economic viability considerations.
