How to get to Cardiff?

Cardiff has strong transport links, making travelling here simple.

When deciding your travel plan to the conference, we ask that you take into consideration the environmental impact of different options and consider choosing a low impact option, such as the train.

By Train

The main train station is Cardiff Central, which is conveniently located in the city centre, close to hotels and the main attractions. Cardiff Central operates mainline services from West Wales, the Midlands, the South Coast and London.

Another option is, Cardiff Queen Street Station, which offers local rail services across Cardiff and from the South Wales Valleys.

By Bus

An easy and affordable way to travel to Cardiff.

Companies such as National Express, Megabus, and Flixbus offer services accessible to Cardiff from a variety of locations.

Flying

Cardiff Airport is located in the Vale of Glamorgan, which is 13 miles to the west of Cardiff. The airport operates direct flights from many capital cities such as Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Amsterdam, along with other European destinations, as well as connecting routes to hundreds of destinations worldwide.

Options for travel from the airport:

  • Integrated train & bus to city centre: 49-minute journey comprised of a shuttle bus that takes you to the nearby train station to reach the connecting train to Cardiff city centre.
  • Bus to Cardiff city centre: 70–78-minute journey from outside the airport terminal.
  • Taxis.
