Dr. Carsten Gerhardt - Chairman, Circular Valley Foundation

Carsten Gerhardt studied theoretical solid-state physics, Anglo-Irish literature and economics. As a management consultant, he works in a wide variety of industries with a focus on sustainability. Carsten is chairman of the Wuppertalbewegung e.V., the initiator of the Nordbahntrasse, a 20km walking, cycling and inline-skating track on a former railway line through Wuppertal. Since 2020 he has been committed to positioning the wider Rhine-Ruhr area as Circular Valley - a region in which globally leading solutions for a Circular Economy are developed.
